This school is personally not for me, or most people that I know that go there. Most of my friends have at one time or another have said that they wanted to transfer. All my friends from my high school that went there with me have all transferred out. When you pay 50 grand to go to school you better love the hell out of it wouldn't you agree? The location is great and one of the reasons that I chose to go to Loyola. I thought that I would be able to experience Chicago and Lake shore campus, FALSE. The work load in each class is ridiculous. Teachers are catty in the theater department and will chew you up and spit you out if you are not one of the five favorite actresses/actors. They reuse the people over and over and the "teachers" are not qualified. The communication intro teachers rather be plucking out their own eyebrows than teach. They have a pretty great theo department but expect to do work for those classes and lots of reading (depending on the teacher but usually). Had one really great history teacher and a few other saints work there and care and love their students but the majority think that their class is the only class you are taking that semester and will pile the work on! They are self absorbed and come to teach on their terms. In all my life I've never come across such mean people that call themselves teachers. The school has no school pride- no football team, no track for the track and field team, no areas to do work outside and no one on the campus really looks happy except on Thursday nights when people are stumbling back from PCOs. While State schools will have events like little five or unofficial, we have weeks were we don't ever step foot out of the library. The Greek life here is a joke, just another expense on top of the tuition when there aren't houses. The only thing LU is good for is for taking your money, making you fat (buffet style cafeterias) and making your life miserable. I'd say don't be a foo stear clear of LU
