NIU is a shithole. It's a suitcase school of last resort for the children of average Joe schmucks who live in northeast Illinois. The campus is butt ugly, Greek Row looks like a bombed out street in downtown Beirut, and there is virtually no good social environment to speak of. If you are thinking about enrolling at NIU, then do yourself a huge favor. Take a step back and try like hell to gain acceptance into a better school. Either that or go to community college for a couple years, get good grades, then transfer to a good university.
