The school is in a transition stage as it moves away from commuter school to traditional college campus with dorms. All the buildings are being renovated. It has come a long way since when it was first built.

The campus is VERY gray, some of the classrooms are not maintained well, but they are slowing renovating them. The new classrooms are amazing.

The new dorms on south campus are like five star hotels very fancy, they have great views of the city and offer the latest amenities. They are much nicer than any dorms at UIUC.

At UIC you are getting an Illinois education. Don't expect to you fail a course and replace the grade. You cannot replace grades only average them. This is same at UIUC.

It is a great school if you are willing to work hard. It doesn't have as much recognition as UIUC but that is slowly improving. Many top companies recruit at UIC, Microsoft, Motorola, Bloomberg, Lehman Bros, and etc.
