U of I is a great school. You have to understand that when 35,000+ students are put in one university, it is very difficult to receive the amount of individual attention you normally want in a lower level course. That would just not be practical. In upper level courses, there are discussion groups and smaller classes, which are important as upper level classes are the ones that are more major specific. As far as the social scene, U of I is awesome…#4 in the country for partying according to Princeton Review. Once again, the large amount of students make it possible. U of I is great because the students have a great balance…most of the kids work hard and play hard…if they didn't work hard, they wouldn't make it at such an elite school.
