Major: Music - Performance (This Major's Salary over time)
I love IU Bloomington! I was nervous going into it, but Bloomington is "home" now. It's difficult to pinpoint what my favorite thing about school is, because overall I have no complaints. The campus is beautiful, with mostly old limestone buildings, lots of trees, and a creek with cute little bridges running through the middle of campus. I don't mind the weather because although it's cold in the winter it's clear and sunny the majority of the time. The school in general has an excellent energy. You get the feeling that everybody at IU is happy to be going here and proud of their school and that enthusiasm is contagious.Students are very welcoming and friendly for the most part and you feel like you can just strike up a conversation with almost anyone. I came in not knowing anyone freshman year and easily made friends. I am somewhat shy, but if you are even slightly outgoing you will be able to meet people like you. The football and basketball games are awesome, everybody has a ton of school spirit! There are always parties going on, it doesn't matter if you are greek or not. Kirkwood and the downtown is adorable with cute restaurants and shops. The college mall is somewhat small but has more clothing stores and a target etc. There is definitley enough to do in the spare time I do have.I feel like the big campus actually gives you the best of both worlds. . . you get the benefits of a small campus because it is so homey and the people are so welcoming, yet there is still something for everyone. You find people who drink and people who don't, people looking to hook up and people looking for relationships etc. I can't really talk for other majors, but I'm in the music school and couldn't be more pleased with the training I'm receiving. I am so happy here I can not imagine ever going to a different school. Four years will not be long enough!!
