Please
save your time and money, do not attend IWU. The
school and their online program is a joke. I have
been a student at another university, in their adult student
program for years and NEVER had the problems I had
with IWU in two months. The first red flag
should have been when I had customer service reps from
India calling my cell phone several times a week to
check on how my school experience was going. This seemed
extremely odd to me. As far as the education
goes, there is none. They want you to jump
through hoops and pay a ridiculous amount of money OUT OF POCKET to get enrolled and get your transcripts posted.
As far as the online format, it is 90%
busy work. Never once did I get the impression
IWU cared about providing a respectable education. I should
have listened to my handful of friends who had similar
experiences at IWU and later successfully graduated from local universities.
But I was sucked in, thinking the online program
would be more flexible with my work/family schedule. Now,
they are telling me they hadn't processed my student loans
yet and therefore will not apply them to my withdrawn
class. I have a balance of $2,500 from the
class that I withdrew from week one. And I
will have to pay that out of pocket before they
even release my transcipts to my previous university that I
have gladly ran back to. Lesson learned, the grass
is certainly not greener on the other side. Indiana
Wesleyan University needs to live up to their supposed Christian
values and get on board with the other adult programs
offered in the Indianapolis area, rather than acting as a
profit-driven business. Boy do I regret making that transfer
to IWU!! Other universities to consider include: Franklin University,
University of Indianapolis, Marian University just to name a few.
