I am extremely happy with the education Purdue offered. While it was easy for many engineers to immerse themselves entirely in tech, the majority of the Purdue faculty and students are not technical. As time goes on (getting close to 15 yrs since undergrad), I find more and more that the breadth of good non-technical classes has proven as highly valuable as the good tech classes (excellent communications school, good history and philosophy departments to hone writing skill, engineering focused on fundamentals rather than cook book approaches). The extracurriculars were well connected nationally, which was a life saver to me as a liberal mind from the East coast at a conservative school in the midwest. Majority of my friends were international, which was a great benefit of being at a large school.
