Major: Electrical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Purdue is a great university only if you major in engineering, some other hard sciences and management (liberal arts sucks). There is not a whole lot to do in West Lafayette but if there are 30000+ students your age in your vicinity then you can definitely have a good time. Academics are hard but not cut throat, students are willing to help each other and professors encourage working in groups. So if you work hard and not party all night long, you can definitely succeed here. The name recognition of Purdue is also growing, many people think it is a private university because there is no Indiana in the name. And there is a big job fair every spring and fall and if you majored in the above named disciplines and did reasonably well, you can get a job. Heck, companies are already asking me for my resume and I am just a freshmen. So definitely, come here, have a good time and don't forget that you are here to get a degree not just party.
