| Purdue's
a good school. College is really what you make it.
I read some of these other reviews and laugh. Your
goal is to get the degree, especially in today's economy.
At first, I really hated Purdue for the lack of
social scene when your around 18 or 19. That gets
better once you turn 21 or find a group of
friends to party with. It takes a little while to
get adjusted to getting a good group of friends, but it's
worth it. I joined a fraternity, christian org, and music
programs. They all had activities, not every weekend. But you'll
make some good memories. The liberal arts department was very
small, but good. They didn't sugarcoat anything, plus they weren't going to
guarantee that you'll make a six figure salary once you
graduate. But when competing for internships/coops in a large metro
area, Purdue stood out against lower tier schools. It really
did. Social life gets better once you turn 21+,everyone goes
out to the cactus or chauncey during the weekend. It's
pretty fun. There's also a nice co-rec and plenty of
free activities on campus that one can enjoy oneself(if that
makes any sense).Football and Basketball games a blast, you should
defiantely try to at least enjoy of few of them.
Grand Prix week is always fun around campus(I personally never
considered it a big party weekend, i always felt the
first weekends of the semester were). Also take advantage of
semester away programs, they are worth it plus you'll make
alot of friends.
