The fact is that you won't be finding UWaterloo haters funny once you graduate from this school. Sorry to say that best in Canada doesn't really mean anything in the world, there are computer science schools in USA, UK, Asia and many other countries with better education standing than those of Canada. As a matter of fact, UWaterloo is not even the best computer engineering school in Canada (UofT is). Umm… if Canadian computer science industry is so great, why 90% of the computer graduate need heading to California for jobs. A lot of IT companies hires coop because they don't want to hire full time. You should be wondering why they pay you $50/hr because no body else want to work in this industry. You will probably earn $10.25/hr by the age of 40. Companies (such as Google) have local offices all over the world man. Do you seriously think Google only have office in Silicon Valley and Waterloo. My friend, don't let Waterloo brainwash you. Look outside the box. |

Funny how only haters choose to comment here. Matter of the fact is, if you're here for anything not Engineering/Math then it's not worth it. On the other hand, the tech programs here are the best in Canada. Especially because of the Co-op program. I'm in third year Software Engineering, and 90% of my class is heading to the bay area (California) to work for tech giants (like Google/Fb etc) for their next co-op term. The pay for these interns is averaged around 50$/hr along with great connections and environment. If you want a good career path, Waterloo is definitely the best choice. Companies (such as google) even decide to open local offices just to hire Waterloo grads/co-ops.Sad to see loo rated so low on this site.
