I have been asked the classic question time and time again… ? At first it was the name, but after this year I've decided this place was the perfect opportunity to come to a good school without losing myself. All of the kids are pretty grounded, intelligent, and focused kids. What I love is that there is so much passion (even if most of it isn't political). People would rather help better the world than lose their souls to corporate greed. This is pretty common among the top twenty schools. This place has changed me for the better. I feel that I am learning to grow and be ambitious but retain my relationship to God. I think thats how a lot of kids feel. It can be overwhelmingly conservative and homogenious but thats a complaint about an aspect of the culture not the kids. I am the first to usually point out the flaws of this University but seeing its been done already I'll defend her. Notre Dame is in a struggle of preservation that most schools that are academically prestigous don't have to deal with. It must learn to do a balancing act that there is no model for between Catholicism and the academic liberal establishment. Between social and spiritual love and the tennants of a more greedy and competitive world. I can say that because I deal with them too, here, at ND we all do. But just as our school I have faith we'll triumph.GOD, COUNTRY, NOTRE DAME!
