Simply put: I hate this place. In the classrooms, most courses are taught by TAs on foreign exchange, so you probably won't understand them. If you're lucky, one of them might answer questions or help you, but they usually try to push you out the door as quickly as possible so that they can focus on their own courses.

I didn't grow up in Louisville, and the "propaganda" given to my parents and me made me think this place was invigorating. As I have experienced, most courses are nothing but ?busy work,? and the professors seem to just preach from the textbook during the lab portions and disappear from the lecture hall (and campus) afterward.

As for social life? well, it doesn?t exist. Oh, I stand corrected: join a fraternity / sorority and get a taste for booze. Oh, and I almost forgot, you need to be a sports jock. For every $10k this place spends on campus maintenance and upkeep they spend about $1 million on athletics. If you want to know why tuition here has skyrocketed over the past 15 years and education quality has remained dismal, look at the athletics department, that?s where the money is going.

And as for a previous poster that said, ?? Drive daddy?s BMW into the Ohio River and shut up.? I have a better one: trade in the BMW (or whatever else you may have) for money to go someplace else. An extra $5-$10k a year to go to a better school is worth some extra loan money than coming here.
