Deciding to go to Tulane was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life.  I have met my best friends and the most fun and interesting people I know.  Social life is huge at Tulane; it can take up a lot of time...sometimes you may feel like it's more important than your studies.  However, finding a good balance is possible.  It is easy to take classes that work around you going out at night, but it is also just as easy to take a challenging coarse load and really get the most out of your college experience.  The scenery is magnificent.  Uptown New Orleans is full of old mansions and the university is directly across the street from lucious Audobon Park which also has a zoo!  Off campus housing is not expensive and most people leave dorms after freshman year.  The experience is like no other, New Orleans is the most unique city in the country, and by far the best place for college students.  The greek community is large, but its not necessary to be a part of.  The main objective among students is to have a good time.  Mostly everyone is happy.  The weather is beautiful (although it does rain a lot, especially in the spring), the nature and the historic architecture make the experience ascetically pleasing.  I love tulane and since the hurricane I have never wanted to go back somewhere more in my life.  GO TO TULANE

questionI'm currently a junior and starting to think about college. Tulane's been on my mind for a while, but I just started researching it. You are one of the few people on this site who wrote that is is not necessary to be a part of the greek community to have a social life. Most of the others said the opposite. I like to have a good time, but am not into the party scene. Also, I'm interested to know how much of the student population is comprised of southerners. I am from Ohio and want to know how I would "fit in" in that respect. Thank you so much for reading this and for any advice you can give me.

If you don't party, Tulane is the WRONG school.
