I love boston, it's a great city. BU is rather huge, but i find in my classes, i get personal attention if i need it. There are tons of clubs and activities to join. I highly recommend living in Warren Towers your freshman year - yeah i know big dorms suck and brownstone appartments are much nicer, but it's nice to live with a ton of other freshman your first year with food, laundry, workout room, pool tables and computer lab right downstairs. If you're worried about being in a city, it's not that overwhelming. BU is situated on Commonwealth Ave, so even though there's no enclosed campus, it feels like there is because almost all the buildings are on this one street, or streets branching from it. Th food is dorm food, but compared to some schools i've been to, it's gourmet. Frats and sororities are that big here, but there still are usually parties to go to. If parties aren't for you, there's also a strip of dance clubs (you usually have to be 18 or show college ID) and bars close by. There is also a movie theatre and an arcade in walking distance. And if nothing nearby interests you, the T (boston's subway system) runs right through the campus. It's pretty efficient and cheap ($1) but closes at midnight every night, so on late nights you'll need a cab (or there is a late bus system on weekends). As far as academics, my classes are interesting and challenging - get used to reading a ton! I guess the major downside of this university is that it's so EXPENSIVE!!! (and living in Boston is expensive too). There are, however, tons of jobs listed on the BU website (www.bu.edu), so you should check it out. Definately visit all the schools you're interested in before choosing, it really helps the decision.
Responses
commentThere is no doubt that Boston University is an elite institution that continuously improves. There are a lot of resources available to students at this college despite its high cost. You should be able to function independently and not be afraid to use the school's resources as well as those in the city of Boston. Well, I need to know is edubirdie safe before I hire an expert writer from there to assist me in an essay that I am writing about this renowned institute.
