I came with the hopes to learn how to work in a recording studio setting, hence my major-audio/radio. While I was able to get my own radio show first semester, the classes they enrolled me in were strictly film. They lump all the visual and media arts majors together, wasting so much of every student's time. The professors are usually very nice, but the classes are unbearable because of the stupid kids who fill them. I've often times wondered how these kids got into the school, and if I'm as stupid as they are. While there are many clubs to join, there's a lot of hierarchy and unavailability within them. Each kid is here for himself..everyone wants to be the next Wes Anderson(not Stephen Spielberg-he's not indie enough) or to somehow dominate the media industry. But these kids aren't open to learning new things or taking in new suggestions, they are set in their ways. And you can make what you want of Boston, but being next to the Common and Chinatown, there really isn't anything around here to do except drink, smoke weed, or spend money on food. Don't come here.
