Emerson was great when I first enrolled.

Since then the administration has isolated itself from any student or alumni concerns and proceeded to dismantle what was once a talented and inspiring faculty into a bunch of PhD-toting drones.

I had one of these “new additions” to Emerson's faculty actually retract prior permission he gave for me to be absent from a class after I already purchased plane tickets and then dock my grade a full letter.  When I complained to the dean of the department, he actually told me not to worry because “grades aren't important.” Tell that to my law school admissions office.

A prior commenter was dead on in reccomending a class with Bethany Nelson — too bad the school has since isolated one of its best teachers in a poorly-paid part-time position (despite resounding outcry from students, alumni and faculty).

In short— don't go here.  The school is clearly in decline.
