Basically, the student body is an ever changing diverse population, so I can't say this will be true for years to come, but if you are serious about getting a very good education, challenging yourself, making the most of your interactions with professors, and you don't mind not partying every weekend, this place is for you. If you can't do without frequent contact with boys, an extremely active social life, and a greek system, you should probably look else where. I love MHC, although I have my criticisms - if I had to choose all over again, MHC would be my top choice. The people here are friendly and kind, from the staff to faculty to students, and are very respectful of each other, save for rare instances. The sense of community here is welcoming, relatively nurturing, and safe. MHC is a great place to explore who you are, find what you want to do, and learn the skills to confidently move forward. Also, there are good opportunities for work study positions (especially once you are a sophmore or above) - but the population here, just as in most higher education institutions, is mostly upper/upper-middle class - don't let that deter you. The education, the community, and the people are really worth seriously considering for if you want to be here. And, as with most colleges/universities, it really helps if you are self-motivated, hungry for learning, and prepared to work hard.
