If I had to do it all again…I most certainly would NOT GO HERE. Yes, the atmosphere is very mellow and warm, most people are pretty friendly (though some also quite arrogant), and professors are helpful, it quickly becomes old very fast without a challenge. Life at Mt. Holyoke can get very redundant and social options are surprisingly limited. There's definitely a Mt. Holyoke "type" and it starts to feel like you're meeting the same person over and over again. Nothing ever "happens" here. But maybe that's just because I'm straight and life pretty much sucks at "Moho" when you're straight. Classes have feminist slants, often times unnecessarily, and it seems professors try to make up excuses to give you a good grade which ultimately doesn't help anyone. Be prepared to get bitchy looks from girls at Amherst any time you go over there to try to meet guys (GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!). Honestly, the school is wonderful for certain people. But make sure that long winters, no social life (if you like men), and complete isolation is okay with you before you come here. I personally would've liked to have gone somewhere where I can compete with men in the classroom, just like we'll all eventually have to in the real world. Plus they liven things up! I think we all start to go a little crazy after being around so much estrogen all the time.
