Mount Holyoke College remains one of the premier academic institutions in the nation. It was just rated #1 for Classroom Experience by the Princeton Review. This status is in accord with my four years there forty years ago. I remain active and serve on the Advisory Board of the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum and know a number of the faculty. The faculty is superb and regard themselves as lucky to teach in such a wonderful and stimulating environment. The only downside to this is that some universities like Harvard try to "poach" the Faculty because the larger universities do not have faculty that are highly regarded teachers. I had a wonderful social life when I was at Mount Holyoke and a summer internship in the US Senate. Those experiences led me to a career as a (mostly) public interest lawyer in Washington DC. I now have my own practice and have represented a wide range of clients from criminal defendants to a US Senator. I have held a wide variety of leadership positions in the Bar and have written extensively for publication.

Mount Holyoke is not the right school for everyone although most students who enroll love the school. Its applicant pool is largely self selecting—very bright and academically successful and motivated young women who are serious about their studies. While there is a lot of fun to be had at Mount Holyoke, it helps to be an extrovert who will be successful in seeking and finding the male companionship that is available in the region. Some real effort is required to go off campus for parties, etc. There is something going on at Mount Holyoke every weekend but the "big" weekends are few.
