The biggest mistake I ever made was choosing to go to UMass Dartmouth.  The nursing program is one of the best in the state, but it is absolutely not worth the crappy experiences I have had so far.

The campus is disgusting, cement all over the place covered in stains and mold.  The dorms are grostesque, the bathrooms are rarely cleaned—and not well at that.  The freshmen dorms are borderline unliveable.  The carpets reak and are stained all over, I was placed in a forced quad(used to be a common room) with 3 roommates that had nothing in common with me or eachother.

The campus is not well kept or well lit.  At night as a female I did not feel safe walking across campus and security was almost never around for safe rides.  My car was vadalized several times at the end of the year resulting in several hundred dollars worth of damage, none of which the school covered.  IF you plan on going to this school, DO NOT bring your car.

There is nothing to do off campus besides the occasional ride to Providence, but the club trips are not worth the trouble.  The drug and alcohol policy only applies to certain residents, and I know people who have stayed out of trouble after being caught several times and many people who get in trouble once or twice and were punished to the max of the rule.

All in all, I am trying my hardest to transfer to another school, but it is extremely difficult as a nursing major to transfer after freshmen year!  DON'T make the same mistake as I did!
