I just completed my first semester at WPI.  I really like the 7 weeks terms.  It prevents burn out and makes studying for finals so much easier.  The professors are really friendly and helpful and genuinely seem interested in you as a person.

The student body is much geekier than I expected though, especially the guys.  The girls aren't that bad.  The girls are more down to earth than at other schools.  Everyone is quite comfortable just grabbing on a jeans and sweatshirt instead of spending hours on their hair and makeup.  I think the student body on a whole is quite friendly and approachable.

The campus is beautiful and well kept.  The dining hall offers a great variety of foods.  Their desserts are especially good.  Their cookies are to die for!

Now on to the negatives... WPI students definitely lack school spirit.  Homecoming was lame.  I've attended 2 of the girls' soccer games and there was a grand total of 10 specatators at each game.  I play a ton of sports and I find it disappointing how uninterested the student body is in sports and other school events.

Also theres not much to do on campus on weeknights except go to club meetings, maybe an occasional comedy show.  Theres a gaming night almost every Saturday.  The surrounding area is pretty boring.  Most ppl just stay on campus.  There are no malls near by which is quite inconvenient for freshmen since we are not allowed to bring our cars.

But overall I like WPI.  You can have a good time here if u make the right friends.  You definitely don't have to be a greek in order to have a social life.  And if u do happen to come to WPI come check out the women's rugby team :)
