In spite of what you "normally" hear about Hopkins from other students-which is usually cynical and negative-what you have to understand is that Hopkins is what you make it. I believe every University is. Although some other universities are more strategically placed near big downtown areas and such, you still have to create your own experience. It's just as easy, at any school, to say, "I don't want to leave my dorm room. I'm just going to sit here and let the fun come to me." I personally have had an excellent time at Hopkins. I went out for a varsity sport, do fun volunteer activities, love my classes (you should always enjoy what you're studying-even if it's hard at times…), and I've made my friends and we make an effort to go out and have fun. Honestly, here, it's not that hard.
