You obviously haven't taken good advantage of your resources at U of M, because this is a fantastic school. The reason that classes are so hard is because when you graduate with a UM degree, this puts you ahead of so many other people with degrees of schools that were not nearly as prestigious as this one. You need to understand that U of M is practically an Ivy League school, and if you're going to attend, you need to be ready for difficult work. It's really difficult, but I still love U of M! |
You should be a shame to even call yourself a wolverine. Our school made a mistake in accepting you. Yes. The classes are tough without a doubt, but, guess what, so is life. So don't bash the school just because you are incapable to operate on the right level. |
Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I hated my experience at the University of Michigan. This school sets the standards yet too high yet the resources cannot help. If you take Organic Chemistry here you will have a hard time unless your a chemistry genius or had the course well. To do well students have to be able to do the coursepack which has 30-35 pages before an exam. Coursepack problems are 3 times tougher than the book and professors dont help. There is no solution manual to check your answers and the courseback is out of order in content material. The physics is the same. Every week you have two physics assignment that are long and difficult. In physics class professor goes over topics of lectures yet there is no examples of any problems completed and the exams have very tough mathematical problems that have no examples in books. The exams also have 1/3 conceptual questions that are extremely difficult and even if you read well you wont do well on these questions necessarily. Michigan professors are students are the same arrogant conceived jerks. It is very hard to get help from students unless you live in the same residence halls from them or know a friend of a friend. Michigan professors and GSIs think they are good but they are nothing but deep shit who make students feel stupid for not understanding material taught in their undergraduate courses yet however most of them did not went to a major or top notch college for undergraduate studies. Overall my experience at Michigan was bad and im certainly not upset to transfer even though it was one of my first choices. If you are contemplating to do Engineering in the state of Michigan you are better off fulfilling that goal at Michigan State or Michigan Tech considering that they rarely give you homework and tests that are beyond what was covered in class.
