MIT has been 1000 times harder for me than anything at michigan ever was. |
Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
After graduating from Michigan with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering, I went on to earn a Master's degree in engineering MIT and later at Stanford, when I moved for my job to California. And I will tell everybody I know, Michigan was by far the hardest school. I don't know if Master's degree programs are easier in general, but compared to Michigan, Stanford was a breeze. The tough engineering curriculum has prepared me very well for my current job as a management consultant, although I don't actually apply the knowledge I learned in engineering, it's the thought process and thought training that provided me with the foundation to do anything I wanted. There's no hand holding, but if you need someone to talk to, everybody will love to talk to you. People can get very competitive, but you must learn how to deal with different people, the mechanical engineering curriculum was very hands-on and team oriented, so you will learn quickly.
