Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
Rule #1 for Wash U or any other school—Find a good department, fast, and start building bridges. You can't get noticed in freshmen bio-chem with 400 other students, but when there are six people graduating a year in your major you get to know your profs as individuals, and it helps your social life, academics, and general feeling of goodness. I'd particularly recommend the various East Asian languages departments for this—you couldn't get closer to your professors if they adopted you.
