Wow, where can I even begin to explain how great this school is. The college experience here is on a whole other level. I really advise living in the dorms your first year, it really helped me meet people and connect with those who shared the same interests as myself. Many of my friends complained about living in the dorms the first year and we all tried to get out of our contracts for the sping semester, but ASU wouldnt let us leave because they had no one to take our places, but when it came time to movie out into our own homes we all had a hard time leaving. I didn't have a car first semester and I had some difficulties adjusting to being alone and over 2000 miles from home. I though that having a car would help. I brought mine second semester had it made my experience ten times better. Although the campus has everything you need, like food, hair salon, clothing boutiques, etc, it helped to have a space that was all your own. If you can afford to, I highly recomend bringing your car.

Academics at this school are just fine. I actually get really upset when my friends tell me that they think I am taking the easy way out. I usually laugh it off, but in the inside I think that my 3.9 GPA looks a hell of a lot better then their 2.5. ASU is large enough where you can get lost in the crowd and sit in the back of class and not have to do much, yet small enough where you can go to office hours or email professors and get a response in less then a couple of hours.

The social life here is amazing. If you are thinking about coming here you should be ok with people drinking and light drug use. You certainly don't have to (sober drivers are ALWAYS welcome), but you need to accept that some people make those decsions. There is always something to do. ALWAYS. If you can't find anything then you probably don't have a pulse. Tuesday nights are the same as Friday nights if you want them to be. Halloween here is amazing. It lasts a good 4 days and you need at least 2 costumes.

The best thing you can do is just visit the beautiful campus and keep an open mind. ASU is actually climbing the ladder in academics. Last I heard, the W.P. Carey busniess school was ranked near Stanford. It is also the largest public university. Many times I hear the size being listed as the schools most negative aspect, I think its great. You get to associate with people you ACTUALLY like, you dont have to pretend. If you don't like someone, don't call them to hang out. It isn't high school.
