i love asu.  just finished my first semester and cant wait to get back to az to start my second.

academics- the classes at asu are challenging but not too hard.  if you go, youll do ok.  study for big tests and participate in class discussions and you will pass.  dont make the mistake of not going to classes just because they dont take attendance.  all my teachers have been very helpful although i cant say the same about the advisors.

night life- mill ave is the prime spot to hang out, eat dinner, shop and go to bars.  the scene is mostly college students.  dont make the mistake of trying to use a fake ID at any of the mill ave bars.  YOU WILL GET IT TAKEN AWAY.  and some places will not only take your ID, but they will call the police.

parties- for asu students under 21, the frat scene is the most reliable place to go to for parties.  you can always find a frat party with free booze and fun.  if youre a boy and not in a frat, dont even try to get into the frats.  it wont happen.  males are forced to resort to finding a house party, which is hard but is do-able.

weather- tempe weather is FANTASTIC.  it was amazing laying out by the pool up until december!

housing- the dorms at asu are nice for the most part excluding manzanita.  do not live there.  it had infestation issues and its dirty.  i lived in palo east and it just got new furniture and carpets.  all the other dorms are nice too

the students- asu students are the richest of all the publiic schools in the nation and it shows.  everyone dresses nice, even to class.  it is not a sweat pants and t shirts kind of school.  the majority of students wear designers and drive luxury vehicles.  the girls always look good and so do the guys.  not the best school to go to if you have low self esteem.  confidence is everything at this school

greek life- its not huge at asu but its fairly big the good sororities are

alpha phi

alpha chi omego

pi phi

delta gamma

the good frats are:

sigma nu

sigma ep

theta chi

overall asu is a great school i love it :)

questionI just got accepted there and am really excited about it. I come from a high-class family in Washington. But I dress in basketball shorts and a t-shirt 5 days out of the week. Do they really dress up everywhere they go?

commentThey don't dress up any more or any less than teenagers normally do, y'know? If you don't want to dress up then don't dress up. There are plenty of places to go and things to do that don't require dressing up for. There are though, like pretty much anywhere in the world, places and occasions where you do dress up and look nice. Overall, ASU is no different than anywhere else; some people like to sport designer gear, some don't; some dress up all the same, some sometimes, others never; some people really take these things seriously, others don't. Just because some people like to wear Ralph Lauren polos, doesn't mean all 60000 people are snobs. Don't worry, you'll enjoy yourself there.
