Major: Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc (This Major's Salary over time)
I went to Meredith College to study fashion design. I quickly realized that because there were no technological resources at the school, I would major in fashion design and marketing ( in order to receive some education in business). So rasther than gatting a sub standard design education, I received half of a substandard education. Many of the students at the school are ignorant and under-educated, because the school is not hard to get into and many have been educated in surrounding public schools. This makes for some painfully ridiculous seminars in subjects like world history or political science. I never was trained on a single design software program, nor was I exposed to any business software. I never looked at a business plan or was challenged by a case study. The worst part of this education was the lack of opportunity after I finally got out. There were absolutely no business affiliations with the school for students to intern with, and subsequently no job offers or training programs uponp graduation. This school's design program is a disaster, and a very expensive one.
