I ended up choosing to go to this school while i was a senior in high school for 3 main reasons. 1st i wanted to go to a big named school and with 25,000+ people i thought is was a huge school. 2nd i wanted to play D1 soccer and the coach there told me that they always have open tryouts and they take a lot of walk-ons each year. 3rd i wanted a school cheaper than others, and it seemed like UNCC was perfect b/c it was a few thousand dollars cheaper for out of state students than many other big name schools. Well what seemed to be my brilliant plan failed miserably. Out of the 25,000 most were commuters and every in-state student went home on the weekends, the soccer coach told me the team was "full" when i first got on campus, and i ended up owing UNCC about $6,000 for the worst 4 months of my life. I left that school after 1 semester because it was such a fluke and mainly just depressing. The one thing i didnt even look into stupidly was academics, b/c i just wanted to go away and enjoy my time but it ended up being the exact opposite. I could have gotten into UNCC with a 900 SAT score because they are so money hungry now more than ever b/c they are finnaly getting a football team so with my 1150 SAT score, I knew that i was a lot more intellegent than pretty much everyone in all my classes. Everything you hear about the teachers not caring is true, they are just their to get their salaries. The worst part about this school is that the students really do run to their cars on thursdays and drive up to 4 hours just so they can be at home with their families. It is crazy, the campus is so empty on the weekends, no student ever branches out to anyone, they just give you wierd looks. I am just trying to help some of you high school kids that want to go away to school. Put a lot of time into finding a school, it really is a huge decision b/c its going to be your home for the next 4 years. If you are not sure, go to a junior college and get your grades up so you can get into better schools! Luckily in my case i was able to leave this terrible school. Dont get tricked, this school is a scam and a fake. Everyone from UNCC that is reading this you know it is 100% true so all of u rednecks that try to back UNCC can go cry to your parents because you see them every week anyway.
