If I had to go back and do it over again I would, without hesitation, go back to Charlotte. I absolutely loved my undergraduate years.

This is an up and coming university. I cannot stress that enough. UNCC changed dramatically when I was there (05-10), and it's still changing and adding new things. When I arrived in Charlotte the food was not very good, but by the time I graduated the food options/quality was very good for a college, and much better than the food at my friends' schools: App, ECU, State, Clemson, Furman. There's a lot going on on campus, whether it's videogame tournaments at the student union, or concerts. Some of it you have to look for - there are A LOT of clubs and organizations.

Academically, UNC Charlotte prepared me well for gradschool. Most of my professors were experts in their field and took the time to help you individually. Class size to professor ratio is not great, but it is better than most other public schools. I go to an SEC school now and the undergrad classes I TA are enormous compared to the class sizes at Charlotte. Some of the programs are better than others, UNCC's Architecture and Automotive Engineering programs are among the top in the nation.

The City in itself is amazing and has a lot to offer. Charlotte has pro sports, outdoor activities (National White Water Center), amazing shopping, good food, theater, and the arts. You will NOT be bored. However, I also appreciated the campus botanical gardens and all the trails on campus as they gave me a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle when I wanted to.

Lastly, sports, Charlotte has the 8th best win percentage in college baseball over the past 5 years. Soccer is also consistently going to the NCAA Tournament. Although basketball was down when I attended the history is rich with NCAA tourney runs and a Final Four. I go to an SEC school now, and people are not nearly as excited about basketball as they were at Charlotte. Niner Nation Gold is definitely the most creative student group I've come across and has some of the rowdiest fans I've ever met. We took over Tennessee's arena, GA Tech's Arena, and drowned out Wake Forest fans in our victories.

I absolutely love this school. Academics are great, campus life was excellent, and the city provides endless opportunities. Go to UNC Charlotte.
