I studied Computer Science, Mathematics and also business while at Plymouth. I LOVE learning (even now). I learned a lot while studying at Plymouth. I especially loved Plymouth's awesome Mathematics Professor, Barbara Dearborn, who made Calculus I-IV understandable and inspired me to formally add Mathematics to my existing Computer Science major. Once I got to Plymouth, I began to LOVE learning for the first time in my life so I took as many classes as they allowed and year-round (Plymouth mostly accepted all my summer and study abroad credits because after I got their pre-approval). Plymouth is the first school that first sparked my deep passion for learning which still fuels my career, life and parenting successes even now in my 50s.

If you are just starting out, remember that College is what you make of it. Our choices and actions each day, will add up to who we become. So, if you are fortunate to have the opportunity of college, choose wisely each day. If, you squander the opportunity you are given, by choosing actions toward a path of self-destruction—instead of seeking to grow, self-reflection, self-understanding, self-improvement, self-growth, selfless service, selfless…—then depending on which choices, actions and path you traversed, your outcomes/future will turn out very different. In other words, if one chooses to ESCAPE/RUN AWAY/SQUANDER their life via self-destructive habits of drugs, alcohol, TV, video games, "drama", then one risks his/her bright future, hopes and dreams. On the other hand, if one ignores the negative influences on any college campus and instead surrounds him/herself with people better than themselves in some way (athletically, academically, spiritually, philosophically, self-motivation-wise, study-habit-wise) then you can continue to grow and get better and will more likely not only reach but EXCEED your hopes and dreams for a better life.

I originally chose Plymouth because I loved skiing, hiking and its tranquil setting surrounded by breathtakingly mountains, lakes and wildlife. Once I arrived on campus, I enjoyed the breadth and depth of multi-disciplinary academic opportunities, extra-curricular options, and all the free tutoring. My favorite place to live up there was Waterville Estates. I also highly recommend studying abroad and definitely get a Graduate degree after you finish your Bachelors degree. Stay in college as long as you can if you want the rest of your life to be easier. The real world is difficult if you aren't prepared.
