you can't deny that NJIT has a great educational quality to it. sure it's not a big party school, and a lot of people like to isolate themselves. but, if you ask me… a lot of them are just waiting for someone to talk to them. a huge amount of the student body, you could walk up to and start a conversation with. do this with a few hundred people and i guarantee you it won't be so awkward. there's nobody to blame for a poor social life other than yourself.. there are friends to be made everywhere. there is an entire street of just frat houses between NJIT and Rutgers where you can get cheap/free beer get drunk with your roomates, and meet several people at the parties.. it's sad how a lot of people consider the social life at NJIT poor, or near shit, only because they expect people to drag them out of their dorm rooms to parties, have a party on your floor or one up or down every night in the dorming complex, and being able to just look at girls when you go to your classes. it's really not hard to find females to talk to anywhere in the world. in fact, if there ever was a hard time and place… finding a guy to talk to in Moscow after ww2. seriously. Newark might not sound like the greatest neighborhood in the world, but your about 20 minutes from NYC, campus police are everywhere day and night to give you some sense of safety. but just seriously, be with a friend or two, and you shouldn't have a problem as long as you don't wear a shirt saying your a redneck and kicking random people in the shins.

NJIT has a great educational quality to it, if you end up sitting inside and playing WOW all day, i think thats just because you set out to do that. its not hard to figure out how to have a good time, even if you might have to try a bit.
