Colgate's motto is and as students we do a lot of working and playing. The work load is usually intense, but incredibly gratifying. We play a lot too; unfortunately, much of our down time revolves around drinking and fraternities, but what school's social life revolves around anything different?Regarding the education, I don't think I could be in a better place. My Introduction to Economics class had only 33 students, and the largest class is about 90 students—my smallest had only 12 students, and most average about 18-20. The professors care about their students and there are no TAs, so everything you learn comes directly from a professor who has been working in his/her field for at least 10 years. Of the eight courses I've taken, I've thoroughly enjoyed seven, and the eighth was decent. Colgate is a great school for people who like to learn and are ready to work hard. It's just about the same as an Ivy league school.
