Elmira College provided me with an education and experience I could not begin to appreciate until I had completed it.  The campus is gorgeous and I was lured in by the tradition, community atmosphere, and supportive admissions process.  I have gained some of my very best friends from my time at Elmira, but, even more importantly (friends can be found anywhere, after all), I learned more than I could have anticipated in the Adolescent Education, English, and American Studies programs, all of which I majored in.  One of the nice things about Elmira's academic programs is that they work with the student to allow them to study as many different areas as they wish.  I worked harder to excel in these programs than I had anticipated and far more than any of my friends at other colleges.  That having been said, I can say with absolute confidence that my education was superior to anything I could have received at any of the other schools at which I applied before choosing Elmira.  I have since gone on to get my Master's at LeMoyne College and was dismayed at both how easy the program was and at how low level many of peers seemed to be.  It was clear they had not received the level of education in their fields that I had.  I remain close with many of my professors and continue to think of Elmira fondly and long to go back.  At Elmira, as with any school, the student will get out what they put in, but, unlike many other schools, Elmira encourages and facilitates the student putting in her very best in order to reach her very best potential.
