Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
It is annoying not to have a good library and all the stuff that NYU has right next door, but the intellectual environment is much better. At Lang you know everyone and you have the freedom to be creative and pursue your own interests. At the same time, this hurts students that are really trying to gain skills to get a job. The advisors don't really know what's going on most of the time and you have to hope you get one that can put you on the right track. I had no idea I didn't meet the requirements of the psychology major until I received my diploma that said I had a degree in liberal arts. It would have also been nice to have been told about programs and opportunities I had no idea about until it was too late. Teachers definitely favor students and grading is 100% objective and depends on luck and chance. For example, I got an F in a class for missing 4 classes during a semester even though I got As on the assignments. Had I had a different teacher or had I been at NYU in a lecture, I would have gotten an A. This is also a great school for people that love to talk, which can be great or horrible depending on how much people care about the subject matter and how much people just want to talk about random things in their lives that they think somehow relates but doesn't because they never read any of the assignments.
