I transferred from Hofstra University and I am very GLAD I did while I was still a freshman at the university.

This comment is directed to stuents who have been accepted, or will be accepted, remember that undergraduate coursework is the same at any college you attend. You should focus on going to a school that will give you the largest network of connections for after college and the college with the best reputation.

At hofstra you will not have any business connections, and will have a network of long island kids who like to party. If you want to go to this school you will have a lot of club promoters as your network.

I transferred after 1 semester at this school and I am very glad. After transferring I can now realize how unhappy I was with the school. I still talk to two people at hofstra, my roomate, and a friend I met there. Two people! out of a school with thousands of students.

My new school is full of driven and passionate students who will go on to be the best in their respective industry. and after college I will have a large network of business connections.

If you get the feeling that everything about the school is fake, you are not alone. If you feel like you are not fitting in that the school and think you need time to adjust, its not you! Transfer from the school immediately because the students that stay are not passionate people.

I think the education there is average, but my point here is that you are not trapped! You can transfer at any time to another university.

One major thing that made me want to transfer was that the students were not interesting to me. I want to go to a school where everyone is interesting. at hofstra most kids are just average long island kids who have not done anything great.

The faculty is very good there, and the campus is beautiful, but the students are very weird and not very driven.

When I go to a college I want to be with a group of students just as passionate as I am. And passion is lacking at hofstra.

I came from a competitive highschool and wanted a school where students go on to become leaders in business, government, and the best in their respective field. This is not the case with Hofstra, I could immediately tell that there is no way that students there will become the best in their field without any dedication.

I had a good experience there academically, but the schools reputation is not worth the price, and the social aspects of the school were most unappealing to me.

On the weekends it is a ghost town, When I was at the school I feel like I am at a shopping center or mall, because everyone seems to be a stranger. People do not go out of their way to be friendly like other colleges.

I feel like everything about this school is fake, I thought that certainly they could not be serious in going to those little bars next to the school.

The social scene is the biggest drawback of the school, students speak of those little bars and the frat parties like they are the most important things, when in reality most of the girls are so slutty and not even hot.

Go to a school in NYC, it is an amazing place to go to college, but do not go to Hofstra, it is not in NYC.

Go to a school that is REAL! A school where real companies recruit.

The point where I knew I was going to transfer was at the Hofstra career fair. I expected top companies to be there like Mckinsey, KMPG, Google, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Jane Street…ect

But the companies were not real companies, they were local businesses trying to get free interns, and scam door to door sales companies.

I was astonished that the Hofstra administration would allow these low quality employers to be a their career fair.

That is when I knew I wanted to transfer, to go to a real school, with real interesting students, having real experiences, and get a real high paying job.

Step out of the twilight zone, and press submit on that transfer application if you feel like you are not fitting in there. Chances are its not your fault.
