Iona College's atmosphere is not one of a caring community. Not to get me wrong, some staff members and teachers care, and are so nice, but many top level administrators are aloof and so removed from what is really taking place on campus-the board should do spot checks. Staff members are leaving, due to low morale and low salaries. When employees are not happy and turnover is so high, student services greatly suffer. That's what is happening at Iona College, due to such high employee turnover. For me, Iona definitely is not worth the money. I can enroll at a different private college for 1/2 the tuition rate, and not have debt when I graduate. Iona's ranking, for return on investment, is low, and so is Iona's ranking over-all. Iona is really not on the map, when it comes to corporate recruitment for jobs and internships. A few Fortune 500 companies hire Iona students, but so many students don't get recruited. Iona College needs a lot of strategic changes to compete. Iona doesn't operate like a well run business; that's why I decided to transfer out to a college that I will get value for my parents and my very hard earned money. I can take the same coursework at other colleges for much cheaper tuition rates, and graduate college debt free.If you are interested in Iona, when you visit, ask for reports on what companies, Fortune 50, 100, attend their job fairs, like Visa, Hewlett Packard, Xerox, J.P.Morgan, Mastercard, Novartis, and the list goes on. Ask questions before you enroll to ensure you will be receiving the best return on your investment dollars.
