NYU is a unique type of school for a certain type of student.  This school is not for the weak hearted or people who need to feel sheltered.  This school gives you real world competition and those whom cannot handle it get weeded out early and quickly.  If you need to live on a campus and have your hand held, then DO NOT go here.  However, if you're hardheaded, motivated, honest and hungry, then this place could be your ticket to lifelong success and there may prove to be no better school for you.  Also, if you want to experience the real world and have a leg up on others when you enter your respective field in the real world, this place will provide you with that.  NYU is absolutely excellent if you perform well because you will be able to find well paying jobs in the city through its connections as well as your hustle.  New York is the best place for hustling bustling people because employers reward confident and ambitious go-getters.  After graduating and entering the investment banking field, I realized that I was much better prepared and confident to take on the business lifestyle and I attribute this to my NYU experience.  Many of my friends who went to schools with campuses and football games are experiencing extreme difficulty finding jobs and many are not exposed enough to survive in the rough and tumble lifestyle of New York City's corporate sector.  NYU prepares you best for professions due to not only your academic preparation, but also your street smarts and savviness that you develop (Which count for more than you would believe in the business world) during your time there.
