Bottom line: only the best survive at this school; its survival of the fittest. The negative comments are people who simply couldn't take it. You have to be a specific kind of person to thrive here. You have to be driven, fiercely (and I mean FIERCELY) independent and self reliant. If you come to NYU you will not be a college student—you will be an adult with real responsibilities living in a very real world situation. NYU isn't college, it's pure, raw, amazing reality.

That's what I love about this school. There is sooo much to do in new york its amazing. The opportunities are absolutely endless—you name any internship or job you want and NYU can and will hook you up. Our library has over 5 million books, our business school is #2 in the nation. If you want to get ahead of everyone else and be at the top of your field after you graduate this is the place to go. The location IS worth the expense—don't listen to what anyone else says. Think about it. Even the kids at Yale, Harvard and Cornell don't have the opportunity to intern and work at top companies during the year. NYUers do.

There is so much culture here, its amazing. If you come here you will be living in the middle of the BEST city in the country, if not the world. I don't understand people who complain about it—I wouldnt want to be anywhere else. Sure, there are the unfriendly snobby disgustingly rich kids but what private university doesn't have them?

People who say that NYU doesn't have a social life are seriously out of their minds. We live in party central—downtown NYC. There are bars and clubs everywhere you look, all you need is a decent (even crappy) fake and you're good to go. Again, if you dream of quads and nature and football games and a prominent greek life you WILL NOT BE HAPPY HERE. But those who come here and love it are amazing. I love my friends and I would never want to partake in "typical" college experience. I love it here!

Don't read the negative comments. Come here, visit yourself. You will know as soon as you enter NYC if this school is for you or not.

commentUmm, where did you get that little #2 statistic? Neither businessweek nor usnews rank it #2. It is ranked #5 in undergrad business and #10 MBA by usnews, #15 in undergrad business and #13 MBA by businessweek.

You shouldn't give false statistics like that just because you loved the school.

And even if Harvard, Yale, and Cornell can't offer interns with the best companies, the best companies probably do prefer grads from Ivies. And you know that's not a lie.
