Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
The Educational aspect , at least in my department, is what it was said to be by the school's reputation. A professional as well as creative environment is always encouraged so that when one recieves his or her diploma, going into the "real world…" (no, not the Mtv show). However, the administrative department needs to work on their organizational skill many times more than I do. Tranfering credits, financial aid, registration, course changes, and much, much, more are labor intensive on the students who are already trying to prepare for their first & final weeks of class. Another important issue one thinks about after spending $35,000+ on tuition, food, and lodging, is where does all the money go? No, not on drugs (completely), but I do not know if a select drunk department chairperson can defend himself for being inebriated during school hours. Seriously, student equiptment isn't as updated as well as they could be, professors aren't as paid as well as they should for their time and talents, and most interestingly, the Freshman dorm (prison), The Cannoneer, most commonly known as "The Can," was built in the 70's as temporary housing. I never knew "temporary" meant a generation plus of being cheap… ANYWAY… cliffnotes version- Pratt is a very expensive 4 years of cheap lazy beurocracy which WILL teach you or your son/daughter how to live in world full of scandals. Professors Good, Administration Bad.
