Date: Apr 19 2005 Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time) Pratt was the best thing that ever happened to me.I can from a small pretty town in RI to the wild, wierd Pratt Experiance and looking back - I could write a novel about my four years there. If you are looking for a sheltered college experiance - this is not the place for you. If you are motivated, hear the beat of a different drummer or looking for an experiance unlike any other you can make that happen at Pratt. Pratt isn't for everybody. There is no coddling. But it sure prepared me for NYC and the world in general. When I graduated, I had so many job offers, I had a hard time choosing one. Many of my fellow alumni have become quite famous in very diverse careers such as Harvey Fierstien (now on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof), to directors of music videos, to book illustrators, etc. One of my Pratt mentors/teachers was David Byrd who worked on the Harry Potter background designs. Jobs I got from Pratt Career placement were diverse and amazing. I worked as a Promotions director in a Dept. Store. An Art Director, An animation artist (Fritz the Cat) and as an assitant director of a famous x-rated movie.Where did I end up? As a flight attendant for a mojor airline. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. It was the most incredible 4 years of my life.
