St Lawrence is a great school but you must find your niche. If you like to party all the time, gossip, compete for best wardrobe, and have sex with lots of people, you can definately find your place at SLU. There are parties all the time. The social environment leaves a lot to be desired. There are a lot of meathead jocks, preppy gossip mills, and plenty of those

don't even talk to me unless you drive a BMW

types. SLU deserves its reputation for snobbery.

Here you see the downside of a rich school, but the benefits are numerous too. All programs, academic and extacurricular, are very well funded. Scholarship and financial aide opportunities are great. The dorms are very nice unless you are a freshman. Dining halls are very good.
If you are actually here to learn, you can do that too. Academic programs are great, with very talented faculty members and top-noch facilities. Proffessors are challenging and fair, and classes are educational rather than competitive. The catalog of courses is huge; you will never feel like there's nothing interesting to take. Advisors are good. You will get a real education if you want one. There is no reason to think that a degree from SLU is not respectable- it IS!
