I attended in the late 90s and have heard about some good and bad changes since then. My experience there taught me that conformity was expected…not something I appreciated or accepted. One poster wrote that as long as you weren't artsy, socially retarded, or obese you would be fine. This is essentially the mindset of the school. As an artsy person, I was not in the mainstream mindset of the school. I did, however, gain a good group of friends. However, moving outside my group was treacherous as this school is cliquey. It was like high school all over again!

Academically, this school prepares you fairly well. I went on to graduate school and had no problem keeping up with classes, and found myself properly prepared.

Overall, my experience was ok. It is what you make of it, and the attitude you hold going through college that reflects upon your time there. However, if I had a time machine, I would have gone to another college that was not so restrictive in its campus guidelines [the no-alcohol thing is ridiculous, and I heard they pushed the GLBT community off campus], not judgmental about social conformity, and that better fostered creative thought.

That which does not kill us…
