Attended SUNY @ Farmingdale five years a night, from 1967 to 1972. Obtained an A.A.S. Degree in Business Management. the education I received at Farmingdale prepared me well for fur year college and graduate school. I was chagrin to read some of the recent comments from former and current students about the school. My experience at Farmingdale was nothing but the best. Professors and instructors were the tops. Many of them worked during the day in the field that they taught at night. One professor was a personnel manager for a large electronics firm on LI and brought personnel problems into the classroom. Another instructor who was born in China was an officer in a Chinatown bank during the day and taught Economics at night. Sorry to read comments from former and current students about the current quality of education at the school. If at all possible, it's up to the student to seek out the best teaching staff. Reading reviews, there seems to be a lot of disappointment with the socialization at the school. I realize that's an important part of life for people, but learning skills and knowledge come first. The price is certainly right at Farmingdale. When I attended the school, tuition and fees were $43.05 for a 3 credit course and that's all I could afford at the time. My advice to younger students is to delay gratification until after graduation and seek out good friends and associates.
