I have heard so many bad reviews about this university that it's not fair for prospective students and the university.

First of all let me say that your college experiance is what you make of it.  Some have a bad experiance because of bad roomates or bad professor but that doesn't make the WHOLE university bad.  Binghamton University is a great university.  Sure it has it's goods and bads but over all I would say its an excellent school.

The good things about this school is that it cares about its students and well being it strives to provide opprunites and resources that are hard to come by nowadays.  Like the CDC which personally helps student strengthen their resume and find internships.  The Library is huge and you are bound to find something that you are looking for.  Even the people are socail, you just need to take the step and open up.

The bad things or so one would say is the weather.  The winters can be cold and snowing here.  But the fall and spring are very mild and sunny.  The food is another weekness depends were you live.  Its better than High school food but still not 10/10

The college experiance that you want can only happen if YOU try, this college is not going to hold you hand and give yoyu stuff.  Besides, thats not how life works.
