Major: Journalism (This Major's Salary over time)
The city of D.C. is wonderful. It's wonderfully laid-out. There are plenty of free activites all year long. There are plenty of political demonstrations, etc. The students at GW tend to be from East Coast upper class families. Now, I'm not trying to group all upper class families together, but many students here come from money. And is it apparent. I overheard one girl talking about insuring her box of clothes for a few thousand dollars. That's a little ridiculous. The professors generally know what they are doing. There are large lectures(Chem),but there are discussions or labs to supplement the lecture. Do not go to GW expecting a traditional urban experience. This city is very preppy, very clean. There is no cultural underbelly, as in NYC. Many kids try to make it a party school by party hopping, but mostly, kids do not have hardcore parties.
