The university is ranked so highly, however theyMay 20 2016Public Health
The university is ranked so highly, however they teach you nothing. The program doesn't help you again any new skill set to be competitive in order to get a job in outside world. Moreover, its even more difficult to get even a part-time job while studying in the department. I honestly believe the program sucks charges a lot and in the end u get the degree and graduate but you do not have any advance in the field. The things you learn in this program are equivalent to sitting at home and reading the books all by yourself which will cost you lot less. They hold job fairs but hardly anyone gets a job and the faculty doesn't help students in finding jobs or strengthening connections.
Question
The level of research is appallingJan 03 2015Engineering Department
The level of research is appalling. The quality of students allowed in are dreadful and there is always propaganda in the department. If you are planning to do a PhD here, please for your own sake look at another college. This place is bad, the people have no clue what they want to see in 10 years and honestly do not know what they want to see in 6 months. They might lure you in with funding but trust me looking back i wish i never came here.. Its a shame really and the surrounding is also bad. There is nothing to do and really if you are international student you will be treated differently by locals... This place is a shame and the department is a shame to the name of education
Question
Not as friendly asAug 17 2013Public Policy
Not as friendly as I was told the professors would be. Very expensive , they charge you for things you don't even sign up for like a Meal plan and helth insurance. It's all about the money. Would not recommend. They are not University Alabama.
Question

Question
The school of medicine at UAB not onlySep 05 2010PreMed and Medical
The school of medicine at UAB not only ranks high amongst all other United States medical schools, it truly is an amazing school. There are lots of interesting projects to get involved with, with a well-funded medical research program and top-notch faculty. However, the faculty are never arrogant toward students, and the faculty-student relationship is very strong here. Students who work hard here will undoubtedly achieve great success in the future and forever beyond!
