I loved it! Plain and simple.Quite BrightPolitical Science
I loved it! Plain and simple. Like any place, it's not perfect, but the college did a great job of trying to meet student needs--especially students who struggle with the challenge of college classes and course work.

The profs are incredibly available, and they really want to get to know the students. They're not into the whole "we're god" approach to teaching. Down to earth and friendly instead.

The campus brings in singers, comedians, bands, magicians, etc pretty often, and the greeks are always having a party. Greek life is pretty limited (I'd say about 20% of campus is greek), and they're not the arrogant types you might think of when you think greek. They're really open to everybody since they depend on the whole campus to make their parties and events work. The town of Batesville is small, but it has a ton of outdoor opportunities--rock-climbing, canoeing, camping, hiking, caving biking, hunting, and the list goes on. The people are really nice, but the town could be bigger.

I cannot recommend Lyon highly enough! In 2001Political Science
I cannot recommend Lyon highly enough! In 2001 I came to Lyon from a small town of 500. Four years later I left that wonderful school headed for a masters program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Lyon's professors helped build my intellect and my character, and my fellow students became like family. It just doesn't get better than Lyon!

Lyon cares about one thing and one thingBrightUndecided
Lyon cares about one thing and one thing only, money. The tuition goes up every year and they don't help out with your scholarship to help out.

They tell you that everyone cares about you and are willing to help out, but that is not true. I had two professors actually seem like they cared about anything I did in class, one in Biology and one in a PE class! I do think some of the departments are good, such as bio/pre med. Those are really good professors.

There isn't much to do on campus and it doesn't seem like there is any hope of people changing that. The sports teams are no good and they are an embarrassment to go watch at times. I had to get out.The academics are good, but they aren't much different than they are here at U of A.
