I came to Antioch to finish something IFeb 04 2012Business - Management and Administration
I came to Antioch to finish something I started years ago, my B.A. I graduated with that and moved into a M.A. in Organizational Management which led me to the PhD in Leadership and Change program. I have been supported and pushed to be my best. I am not compared nor do I compare myself to the other students. I am encouraged to bring myself to the room when we are together and I always have a place to go if I have something I need to explore, discuss or debate.I became an activist at Antioch. Not something new, just something that was buried for many years. I found myself again. I didn't learn what they wanted to teach, I learned how to uncover the facts, how to read and consider research as well as how to conduct my own research. This has been a life changing experience. The student loans are well worth the results.
Question
There is a lot of foolishness in theSep 11 2011Psychology
There is a lot of foolishness in the way the system works at this school. Teachers know the students evaluate them and their jobs depend on good reviews. Therefore, teachers make it easy for students to pass courses and there are many who really need to do the necessary work to become a clinical therapist responsible for peoples lives. It is a shame the students run the show there. I feel like I wasted my money and will really focus on my PhD program to make my education as important as it should be. Education is not what Antioch is concerned about. Antioch is concerned about money and getting students in the seats. They figure if they let students run the school and get their way, students will come and stay even though the teachers don't make them work and just let them pass. All the good teachers are drummed out by the student reviews. I saw too many good ones go. Sad. Antioch listens to the students when they complain about the teachers, but they won't listen to the students when they complain about the Antioch education system.
Question
The Conservation Biology Program at Antioch University NewOct 29 2009Other
The Conservation Biology Program at Antioch University New England is a complete joke. The majority of students have an insufficient background to produce an adequate thesis with the minimal help provided by the faculty, there is no support to find funding or to make an excellent thesis project possible, and the classes are terrible. Any one that says anything different is just trying to cover it up. It is a complete sham.
Question
Do not waste your moneyFeb 22 2009Business - Management and Administration
Do not waste your money. If you are coming from oversees. Choose another school right away. Antioch University Los Angeles is the worst school you will ever attend and it is very very expensive. Teachers don't teach. The classroom are run by the students. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS UNIVERSITY. It is a disorganized not well thought out program. The right hand dose not know what the left hand is doing.
