Since I'd all ready had two years of college,Jul 27 2018Social Work
Since I'd all ready had two years of college, I didn't have to do anything but go to Avila, meet with the head of the Social Work Dept. and pick out my classes for the first semester I would be there. I can only imagine that other student/majors would be treated the same. I went to classes during the Summer and if there were any classes that I needed I could go back to a Community College if they were offered there. Being a Social Work major I liked the fact that I could do a Field Placement in an agency that fit my major during my Sr. year at Avila. This gave me first hand knowledge of what might be expected of me when I got into a work place for real. There was a college class that went along with the Field Placement. This was very helpful as one could think about different kinds of clients we may have served, wrote papers about them, etc. There was three Social Work Practice classes at that time. I would highly recommend Avila, no matter what the major might be.
